Henry Charles Beck (1902-1974) worked as a technical draft man at the London Underground in the 1930s. Inspired by circuit boards and electrical diagrams he drew a stylized map of the London Underground in 1931. The simple design made Beck’s map an instant success and his style has inspired subway maps all over the world. Circuit is based on a motherboard from a modern computer.
